Dedicated, strong willed, hard working, supportive, confident, and very giving.

Jay passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 12, 2003.

He was surrounded by family and in the arms of his wonderful "soul mate" and loving wife,

Calleen Sorenson Curtis.

Jay was born on August 23, 1945 to Max J. and Beth Sorensen Curtis in Salina, UT. They currently reside in Aurora, UT where Jay grew up.

He is a member of the LDS church. He graduated from North Sevier High School in 1963. He met his sweetheart Calleen Sorenson from Loa, UT in the summer of 1964. They wed on May 29, 1965, in the Manti Temple, the day after Calleen graduated from high school.

She couldn't wait to start her life with him and has been by his side ever since. Jay attended CSU for one year. He graduated from Utah Trade Tech in Provo with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. Jay then started a long career in the industry he loved; most of which has been with Wheeler Machinery Company. He held positions from an apprentice mechanic to General Service Manager. He was also employed by L.A. Young Construction for two years and was with Gibbons and Reed for a short time. Jay has earned a worldwide reputation for his honesty, integrity, and knowledge as a leader in his industry.

He enjoyed playing golf, long scenic road trips, tinkering on his cars. He loved Lake Powell and other family vacations. His favorite pastimes were channel surfing, and bartering with car salesmen. He could drive a car salesman crazy. We loved it! Most recently he was building a new home with his wife and families help.

Jay will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
