Thelma Camden Aydelott, 93, died August 6, 2019 in Morningside Assisted Living under Hospice care in Newport News, Virginia after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Thelma was born on October 23, 1925 in Nelson County, Virginia to Nina Massie Camden and John H. Camden. She graduated from Fleetwood High School of Massies Mill, Virginia. She married Loren Herbert Aydelott of Fort Eustis and became a wife and homemaker and enjoyed the years in France when "Herbie" was stationed in France.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Singing Seniors choir and served on various committees in the church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Warwick Chapter No. 43. She was a past member of Olivet Christian Church and Orcutt Baptist Church of Newport News. She was very strong in her faith and rarely missed any church service or Sunday School while able to serve the Lord.

Thelma is survived by her children, John H. Aydelott (Frieda) and Ann A. Talley (Joe); two grandchildren, Michael Moody and Ashley Moody; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Moody and Suzanne Moody. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers, her husband and one daughter. She was loved by all who came in contact with her.

The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Peninsula Funeral Home, followed with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Peninsula Memorial Park.
