Dwayne was a Georgia firefighter/Paramedic for 17 years. This was his passion. Dwayne was an Eagle Scout. He also did construction and worked as a Field Engineer for The Villages of Lake Sumter.
Dwayne was an avid Alabama fan. He enjoyed going out on Date Night and traveling with Stephanie and the family. He was the type of person to help anyone who needed it, he rescued the children more than once with broken down vehicles.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Louise Chavis and sister Susan Tarrant of Guyton, GA.
He was survived by his brother Larry Chavis (Deidra) of Bluffton, SC, children Daniel Chavis of Baldwin, FL, and Braxton and Austin, Lady Lake, FL. Grandchildren Faith, Raelee, and Bentley.
Visitation services will be on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Beyers Funeral Home, 134 North Hwy 27/441, Lady Lake, FL. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg, FL.
