Mr. Charles Richard Akers, age 83, of Fulton, KY passed away Saturday,
August 3, 2019 at the Fulton Nursing and Rehab Center in Fulton, KY.

Charles was born August 30, 1935 in Boone County, WV to the late
David Baxter and Nessel Wallen Akers.

He was a member of the Twin City Assembly of God and was a United
States Marine Corp veteran where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Charles retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in
Union City, TN. He lived most of his life in this area.

He is survived by his wife, Luverne Slaughter Akers, whom he married
March 14, 1959, his children; Steve (Jackie) Akers of Fulton, KY, Douglas
(Denise) Akers of Fulton, KY, Ralph (Becky) Akers of Flordia, Danny Akers
of Bell City, KY, Anthony (Susan) Akers of Gobles, MI, Dennis (Colette)
Akers of Crutchfield, KY, Judy Lark of St. Albans, WV, ten grandchildren,
fourteen great-grandchildren, three brothers; Curtis Akers of Boone County,
WV, Sharol Akers of Carpentersville, IL, Leon Akers of North Lake, IL,
two sisters; Peggy Bullen of Zion, IL and Patsy Duffey of Boone County, WV.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two grandchildren;
Clayton Lark and Joey Akers and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday at the Pentecostal Tabernacle
Water Valley with burial to follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8PM Monday. Mr. Akers
will lie in state at the church from 9AM Tuesday until the hour of service.
