Sarah "Rebecca" Powell-Coker, 75, of Naperville, IL, formerly of Princeton, died on Wednesday, November 17, 1976 following a long illness. She was a retired nurse, member of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton, a member of the WSC'S of the church, and a member of the Pisgah Farm Women’s Club.

Born in in 1901 in Oakvale, WV, she was the daughter of the late William H. Powell (1867-1931) and Sarah Catherine Comer-Powell (1867-1947). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Coker Sr. (1889-1968) whom she married on October 3, 1934 in Princeton, Mercer County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Mercer County, WV, 1934, Page 57, Line 24, Application Date: October 2, 1934); and her siblings, Unnamed Male Infant (Deceased),
James F. Powell (1893-1920), Virginia M. Powell (Deceased), Moses Wallace Powell (1898-1966), William Ernest Powell (Deceased), Benjamin C. Powell (1907-1930), and John Robert Powell (1914-1973).

Surviving are one son, Robert Wesley Coker, Jr. (1935-2010) & wife Marcella Meadows-Coker (1941-2016) of Naperville, IL; three sisters, Myrtle Powell-Bauguess of Princeton, Fannie Elizabeth Powell-Smith of Auburn, CA, and Mary Ella Powell-Croym of Kingsport, TN; three brothers, Jerry Powell of Mullens, George Thomas "Tom" Powell (1911-1982) of Glen Lyn, VA, and Charles "Kerner" Powell (1916-1998) of Princeton; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Burns Wornel Chapel with Rev. Ambrose Stump officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Friends may call at the Burns Wornel Funeral Directory today from 3:00 -9:00 p.m.
