Funeral services for Stephen Callen Terrell Jr., 72, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve LeBlanc officiating. Robert Markle and Billy Thibodeaux will serve as giftbearers and Billie Sue Kramer and Jodi Bollich will serve as musicians/vocalists.

Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum with military graveside services by the VFW Post 1982 of New Iberia.

A native of Jefferson Island and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Terrell died at 3:13 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 1, 2003, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mr. Terrell was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Exxon (formerly Humble Oil Co.) as a construction superintendent, having served for more than 30 years.

He was past president of Exxon Annuitants, a member of P.O.P., New Iberia Boat Club, American Legion and Dauterive Senior Friends and and was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Friends of the Library and St. Francis Diner.

Mr. Terrell is survived by his wife, Joyce Thibodeaux Terrell of New Iberia; his mother, Lillie Boutte Terrell of New Iberia; his son, Stephen Callen Terrell III of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; his daughter, Catherine Terrell Schramm, and her husband, Lionel R. Schramm, of New Iberia; three grandchildren, Callen Charles Schramm of Baton Rouge, Nicholas Lionel Schramm of Jackson, Miss., and Tristan Stephen Terrell of Pensacola, Fla.; his brother, Patrick John Terrell of New Iberia; and his sister, Elizabeth Anne Terrell of New Iberia.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Callen Terrell Sr.; and his sister, Patricia Terrell.

Pallbearers will be Callen C., Nicholas L. and Lionel R. Schramm, Patrick J. and Stephen C. Terrell III, and Richard Carver.

Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
