Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Priest will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Bude, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Midway Cemetery in Meadville. Rev. Tony Mullins will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Hopewell Baptist Church the same day from 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Priest, 89, of Bude, MS went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 29, 2019 at Meadville Nursing Home in Meadville, MS. She was born in Franklin County, MS on October 22, 1929 to Mr. Elbert Ezell and Mrs. Nettie Ezell.
Mrs. Priest was a lifelong member of Bude Baptist Church and Hopewell Baptist Church. The wife of a deacon, she was supportive of her husband and her Lord’s Church. She loved the people of her Sunday School classes and always took the time to express her love and support to all the children that entered her life.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Elbert Ezell and Nettie Ezell; husband, James Priest; son, infant James Allen Priest, Jimmy Priest; grandson, James Allen Priest; two brothers, Cecil Ezell, James L. Ezell; three sisters, Lucille Priest, Ethel Ratcliff and Edith Davis.
Survivors are her son, Jackie Priest and wife, Virginia Ann of Meadville, MS; two brothers, Claude Ezell and wife Pat of Meadville, MS, Donald Ezell and wife Melba of Bude, MS; daughter in law, Judy Priest; grandchildren, Jessica Priest of Meadville, Dana Priest of Jackson, Paige Thornton of McCall Creek; great grandchildren, Skyler Terrell, Tripp Terrell and Blake Finley, along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Daniel Delozier, Rusty Bass, Wade Bass, James R. Sullivan, Hunter Ezell, and Dunk McCormick.
