BERNE - JOHN S GIROD, 84, died Tuesday at home. Born in Adams County, he was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Emma; five sons, Reuben and Nathan, both of Berne, and
Levi, Mark and Sam, all of Monroe; five daughters, Elizabeth Schwartz, Miriam
Schwartz and Lovina Wickey, all of Berne, Edna Schwartz of Monroe and Josephine
Yoder of Geneva; four brothers, Menno S and Enos S, both of Monroe, Reuben S of
Reading, Michi., and Jacob S of Berne; three half brothers, Ernest Girod of
Freedom, NY, Emanuel S Girod and Ben S Girod of Salem; a half sister Lovina
Schwartz of Monroe, a step brother, Simon C Troyer of Berne; a stepsister, Elma
Wickey of Berne, 96 grandchildren; and 99 great-grandchildren.
Services at 9 am Friday at the residence, 6735 s 75E Berne. Calling from 1 to 8 pm today and 9 am to 8 pm Thursday at the residence. Burial in Schwartz Cemetery, Berne.
