Joyce Ann Secreto Belcastro December 12, 1958 - August 6, 2007

Joyce Ann Secreto Belcastro, 48, of Lawman Ave., Bridgeport, a long-time and well-known Harrison County educator, went to be with her Lord early Monday morning, August 6, 2007 at her residence while surrounded by her family. She was born December 12, 1958 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Mary Frances Swiger Secreto and Anthony Secreto of Lumberport.

Her husband of 25 years, James A. "Jimmy" Belcastro whom she married July 17, 1982, survives her at home. Additionally she is survived by her two sons Samuel Anthony Belcastro and Anthony James Belcastro, both at home; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Dawn Secreto of Lumberport and Frank and Kim Secreto, and their children Jennifer Angiulli and her husband John, Steven, Melanie and Megan. Joyce is also survived by her father-in-law Sam Belcastro of Bridgeport; her brothers and sisters-in-law including John and Connie Belcastro and their children, John, Justin and Kayla; Bobby and Julie Belcastro and their daughter, Rosie; and Joe and Sarah Belcastro and their children, Jack and Josie.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Rosa V. Belcastro.

Joyce was a 1977 graduate of Lumberport High School and also graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University, where she received her Master's Degree +65 in Education and was a member of the A.D.K. Sorority. Her teaching career began under Frank Devono and Mr. Hess at West Milford Elementary School where she spent 14 years. She also spent one year at Nutter Fort Elementary School and finally taught at Simpson Elementary School in Bridgeport for 11 years, where she continued to work until December of 2006. Mrs. Belcastro was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport. She loved swimming and playing baseball with her boys. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. Joyce was a woman who gave everything she had to her students whom she loved so dearly, and truly was their mother away from home. She worked tirelessly both at school and hour upon hour at home to make things better for her students. She managed all of this, and at the same time, never denied her motherly responsibilities, which she thrived at. In her mind, she simply could never do enough. The consummate role model, she served as a constant inspiration to anyone and everyone's lives that the Lord allowed her to enter into.
