Rites for Member of Pioneer Milford Family

Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Marsh Gatch, 86, member of a pioneer Milford family, 1616 Linden Drive, College Hill, will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm in the John C. Craver funeral home, 529 Main Street, Milford. She died Thursday in College Hill. She had been living in the Oakwood Club with her daughter Miss Marguerite Gatch, teacher in the College Hill School.

Born in Owensville, O., Mrs. Gatch lived for many years on their old homestead near Milford. Her late husband was for many years, Milford postmaster. He was the great-grandson of the Rev. Philip Gatch, founder of the Methodism in the Northwest Territory. The family built the homestead on a land grant estate near Milford in 1798, close to the stage coach route which is now U.S. Highway 50.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Gatch leaves a son, Frank Gatch, Milford; two other daughters, Mrs. Harry Hill, Marlow Okla., and Mrs. J.B. Jordan, Blanchester, O., and two sisters Mrs. Ella Lane, Batavia, O., and Mrs. Joseph Seaman, Dayton, O.
