She was united in marriage with Jacob W. McCormick in 1893. Eight children were born to this union. Her companion preceded her in death April 24, 1930.
During the active years in a meeting conducted by the late Rev. W. H. Huntsberry, she united with the Trinity M. E. Church remaining a member of this congregation throughout her life. She was a cheerful disposition and highly respected by all who knew her.
She was an affectionate mother and a true friend to those whom she knew. Her health has been failing for some time and for the past few weeks she has been confined to her bed. The end came peacefully at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl McCormick near Flora, Thursday evening July 21, 1938 at he age of 71 yr. 11 mo. 20 days.
She is survived by three sons, Walter, Roy, and Hayward McCormick; five daughters, Mrs. Clarence Rogers, Mrs. Herman Farmer, Mrs. Charles Rogers, Mrs. Owell Fildes, and Mrs. Earl McCormick; brothers, James and Charlie Levi; two sisters, Emma Taylor and Eliza C. VanFossen. Thirty-five grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many dear friends who will mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted from the Mt. Erie M.E. Church Sunday afternoon by Elder W. D. Crippin and Rev. W. J. Tucker.
Interment was in the Scott Cemetery.
