Jonathan Lester Ford, 87 years old, of Wayne, Oklahoma, formerly of Warren and Leavittsburg, died, Friday, August 10, 2008 at 8:22 AM at Wayne, OK. He was born June 4, 1921 in Kinsman, Ohio, the son of the late Grover C. and Huldah Dunlap Ford. He was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School, and then he earned a certificate from Dale Carnegie Course. Mr. Ford served an apprenticeship for machinist with the Taylor Winfield Co. and then worked as machinist at Taylor Winfield, American Welding and owned and operated Ford Machine and Welding in the Warren Area. Jonathan was a member of the Trumbull County Sheriff's Mounted Unit during the 1960's and 1970's era. Before moving to Oklahoma, he received a pilots license and owned his own plane. When Mr. Ford moved to Oklahoma he bred and raised quarter horses. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Jonathan raised beef cattle and became a lifetime member of the Oklahoma City Cowboy Hall of Fame. He also repaired farm equipment for farmers in the Wayne Oklahoma area. Mr. Ford was also an Honorably Discharged US Veteran of WWII having served in the Navy earning the rank of Aviation Ordinanceman Third Class and was discharged in 1946. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Ford of Mineral Ridge; three daughters, Janice (Robert) Elliott of Tampa, FL, Jane Ford and Jenifer (James) Post all of Garrettsville; two step-sons, Larry Hannon of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Ike Mars of Warren; one step-daughter, Kathy Mars, PA; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; one brother, Richard Ford; three sisters, Aldyth Graham, Marion Lutz and Virginia Lutz. Other than his parents, Jonathan was preceded in death by his wives, Glenrose, Kathleen and Pearl. Funeral services will be held at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 6-8 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2008. Mr. Ford will be laid to rest next to his first wife, Glenrose in the Lordstown Cemetery. (Carl W.
