Charles Wesley Hoffman was born on Jan. 23, 1889, near Nora, Nebr. He passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia, Kans., on March 15, 1960, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 23 days.
He was the son of Charley and Rachael Hoffman. He had five brothers who preceded him in death. He has one brother and two sisters living.
He was married to Lola V. Marshall in 1913. To this union three children were born. A son, Eldon Robert, of Englewood, Colo., a daughter, Ila Hancock, also of Englewood; and a son, Melvyn Wesley, who preceded him in death at infancy.
Mr. Hoffman was employed 39 years on the railroad. He retired two years ago because of his health.
He leaves to mourn, his loving wife, two children, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, his sister and brother and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Church in Nelson at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Mar. 18, with the Rev. Ewel Vaughan officiating. Interment was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
