Myrtle Rae Rice, 104, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Liberty Village in Pekin.

Born June 30, 1915 in New Holstein, Wisconsin to Peter and Willie Amanda (Woods) Jacobson. They preceded her in death. She married the love of her life Robert Rice on September 26, 1946 in Springfield. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Thrasher, James Thrasher, four brothers and five sisters.

Surviving are three grandchildren, James (Terri) Thrasher Jr. of Texas, Robert (Jean) Thrasher of Pekin, Regina (Michael) Johnston of Texas, several greatgrandchildren, and daughter-in-law Joyce Thrasher.

Myrtle worked as the Assistant Vice President of East Peoria Trust National Bank for 10 years retiring in 1978. She was in business with her husband, Robert, in Peoria, Bartonville and East Peoria on both East and West Washington St downtown. They last owned and operated Sam Reuther's Real Estate in East Peoria, retiring in 1978.

She enjoyed working with her husband building and remodeling businesses and homes. Robert was the love of her life for 65 years. She was proud of her family; they were what they lived for and loved their animals they cared for.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Dwight will officiate. Visitation will be held an hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 1st United Pentecostal Church in North Pekin, 215 State Street, North Pekin, IL 61554, or Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2201 East Washington in East Peoria.
