memorial service for Jim Anderson, 88, of Milford will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji. Visitation will begin Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019 after 5:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in West Okoboji with the family present at church Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lakes Regional Hospice or First Lutheran Church.

Merlyn James “Jim” Anderson, the son of Martin and Inger (Toft) Anderson, was born November 18, 1930 in Inwood, Iowa. In 1933, the family moved to Milford, Iowa where he graduated from Okoboji Consolidated Township School. Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 and was honorary discharged on November 6, 1953.

Jim was united in marriage to Eyleen Schnell in Terril, Iowa on March 7, 1954. They raised their family in Milford and he worked as a car salesman throughout his life. Jim enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling and making new friends. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as Grandpa-Great.

Jim passed away July 19, 2019 at Accura Healthcare of Milford at eighty-eight years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Eyleen; sons, Mike (Phylis) Anderson and Dave (Nancy) Anderson; grandchildren, Courtney (Jeremy) Frie, Emily (Dustin) Light, Kasey (Nick) Fear, Camille Anderson, Makenzi Anderson and Riley Anderson; great-grandchildren, Abby, Sam and Anndi Frie, Landrie Light and Tyson, Baylon and Fynlee Fear; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and one sister.
