LAPORTE -- Services for Walter A. Fritz, 73, of 0752 S. County 400 W., who died at 5:40 a.m. Friday at the LaPorte Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Haverstock Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Dominick, pastor of the Door Village United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Door Village Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Saturday and until the service at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be held by the Internal Order of Odd Fellows 36 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
He was born June 3, 1906, in Wanatah. On Sept. 2, 1933, he married Laura Marvel, who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Nancy LaRuffa of Brookville, Md.; two sons, Harry Fritz and John Fritz, both of La Porte; five grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Luella Levendoski and Mrs. Edna Wilhelm, both of LaPorte. He retired in 1969 from the Allis-Chalmers Corp. after 27 years of employment. He was a member of the Internal Order of Odd Fellows 36, a member of the Pinola Grange, the Pomona Grange, and the Rebekah Lodge.
