Maude "Aileen" Harmon Daniels, 101, of North Iredell, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 in Statesville, NC.

She was born March 9, 1918 in Iredell County to Maude Howard Harmon and Everette Lafayette Harmon. She attended school in Statesville and graduated from Harmony High School. Upon graduating she was employed at Hunter Manufacturing Co. and Stimpson Hosiery Mills as a seamstress. The Mills provided samples she created to their salesmen to demonstrate the company’s quality to prospective customers.

As a life long member of Friendship United Methodist Church, she met her husband, Roe Daniels there and they were married on January 29, 1937. She supported the church in many ways, such as, helping to establish the nursery, keeping and updating the church history, and tending the flower gardens. She was an active member of the Friendship United Methodist Women. In May 2016, she was the recipient of the Friendship United Methodist Church Laity Service Award.

She and Roe operated Daniels’ Dairy Farm for 54 years before his death in 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, her son, Sam Daniels, her sister, Frances (Harmon) Whitley and her brothers, Forest, Marshall and Dwight Harmon.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marlene Daniels Green, Mt. Pleasant, SC and Sue Daniels Callahan (Roger) of Charlotte; her son, Kent Daniels (Dinah) of Statesville; grandchildren, Corey Green, Danielle Folline, Michael Callahan, Todd Daniels, Chad Daniels, Kelly Daniels, Hans Daniels, Brandy Daniels; 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

This remarkable humble lady devoted her life to her family and church. Her loving home was a magnet for fellowship, family gatherings and eating the delicious meals she prepared. Her days were filled with canning and preserving the vegetables from her garden, researching family genealogy, sewing, tending to little folks, maintaining farm records, and reading her Bible.
