On December 24, 1964 in Alamosa, CO he married Georga Ashley. In 1970, the coupled moved back to Salida. Mr. Davis worked for the phone company in Salida for 31 years, retiring in 2001. After his retirement, he and Georga enjoyed traveling with their truck and trailer. They also visited all but 4 states on their motorcycle with best friends Jim and Judy Taylor. Mr. Davis enjoyed woodworking, reading, rebuilding old clocks and spending time with his family. He was very active in his church he even helped build the church. He was a Mason and a past volunteer firemen and police officer in Chaffee County. His family said he was a very strong Patriot and served his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Georga Davis of Salida, CO, son Wayne (Dena) Davis of Centennial, CO, brother Ed Davis of Wichita Falls, TX, and sister-in-law Joyce Amer of Camarillo, CA. Grandchildren Rusty (Hali), Justin (Andrea) and Brittney (Mike). Great grandchildren Cayden, Ashleigh and Logan.
The family requests that attendees dress in bright and warm colors.
Memorial Services are set for 2:00 PM Wednesday September 27, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Poncha Springs, Colorado.
