Kansas and Dios Corides had 10 children, 3 daughters and 7 sons. Kansas and D. C. lost 2 daughters on the trail to the Indian Territory to diphtheria. Kansas was also pregnant during this move to the Indian Territory with twin sons who died 18 days after their birth in 1895. Then a few months later they lost their son, Andy to diphtheria. Only five of their 10 children now survived to help build their new life in Oklahoma.
