Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Josephine (Ralls) Smedley, 75, resident of Cove,Ar, was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 1977 in the Cove Church of Christ with Bro. Hunter Logan officiating.

Interment was in the Witherspoon Cemetery at Vandervoort,AR under the direction of Geyer-Quillin Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Donald Cook, Ronnie Cook, Randy Milam, Roy Burks, Larry Baker and T.A. Thomas.

Mrs. Smedley was born October 16, 1901 at Athens,AR and died May 21, 1977 at Mena,AR. She spent her entire life in Howard and Polk Counties. She was a member of the Cove Church of Christ. She married John Pierce Smedley August 15, 1919. He survives her.

Other survivors are two sons, J.D. Smedley of Prineville,OR and Jim Smedley of Vandervoort,AR; four daughters, Mrs. Imogene Capehart of Prineville,OR; Mrs. Mary Kesterson of Mt. Ida,AR; Mrs. June Craig of Salem,OR and Mrs. Irene Cook of Cove,AR; five brothers, Vess Ralls of Hatton,AR; Jim Ralls of Prineville,OR; Jeff Ralls of Texarkana,AR; Freeman Ralls of Boston,MA and J.S. Ralls of Cove,AR; three sisters, Mrs. Emma McDaniel of Hatton,AR; Mrs. Lois Wilkins of Vandervoort,AR and Mrs Grace Tilley of Cove,AR; 23 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and on great great grandchild.

One son, Gerald Smedley, preceded her in death.
