Services for Oren K. Golden Sr., 87, of Arp, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Dr. Ron Klingsick, the Rev. Joe Freeman and the Rev. Ken Golden officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Williams Cemetery near New Chapel Hill. Arrangements are by Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home of Overton. Mr. Golden died June 25, 2007, at his residence.
Born December 29, 1919, in Winthrop, Ark., he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, retired from Triton Oil and Gas, member of Canton Masonic Lodge No. 98 and Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Boulter Golden; son, the Rev. Ken Golden; daughters, Gloria Rhame and Anne Ortigo; brother, Audie Golden; and sisters, Annie Golden, Martha Harris, Mary Shriver and Beatrice Williams.
