Carl Aalpoel, 81, of Route 2, Waupun, died Saturday at St. Agnes Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 12, 1889, in the Netherlands, a son of Johannes and Hendrica Boomkamp Aalpoel. Mr. Aalpoel came to the United States in 1910. He married Mary Flier at Alto on Sept. 26, 1916. The couple spent most of their life farming in the Waupun area. He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Waupun. Surviving are his widow; two sons, John of Waupun and Carl J at home; three daughters, Mrs Herman Wiersma of Friesland, Mrs. Gordon Terbeest and Mrs. Carl Sasada, both of Waupun; 12 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one brother, Fred Aalpoel of Lindon, Wash, Mr. Aalpoel was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Werner Beyers Funeral Home, Waupun. with the Rev. Frederick Dolfin officiating. Burial will be in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun.
