David Lynn Rodgers, 76 of Bloomfield Township, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on January 8, 1940 in Painesville, son of William Fred and Dorothy Anne (French) Rodgers. After he graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1958, he attended Cleveland State. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves; was a supervisor at LFE, Inc. in Chesterland for 31 years; and worked for XORB, Inc. in Chardon. David married Nancy C Angstrom June 23, 1962. He loved spending time with his family; enjoyed tractor pulls; and loved farming for Joe Beran until he was physically unable to climb up on the tractor. He served on Bloomfield Township zoning board and helped put up American flags around township when the Civic Club first started with Bob and Wanda Maraczi.

He will be missed by his family and friends; his beloved wife Nancy of 54 years; two daughters, Yvonne (Ralph "JR") Roth and Lorinda (Randy) Wilfong of N. Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Ralph "TJ" Roth III (fiancée Robin Shelton), Nicholas Roth, Kalina (Matthew) Hennessey, Kodie Wilfong, and Klarissa Wilfong; and three sisters, Sharie (William )Breaux of Mentor, Audry (Clem) Naples of Orwell, and Jackie (Tom) Booth of Kirtland. He is preceded in death by his son Dwayne David Rodgers; his mother Dorothy Anne Rodgers, his father and stepmother William Fred and Lena (Childs) Rodgers.

Calling hours will be 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2016 and 10:00-11:00 AM Tuesday, August 16, at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062. His Celebration of Life will follow Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
