BIO SKETCH by B. Bradford (updated 3-10-2024) :

There is very little known about Sibella / Sybella / Sibba and there is no record or proof to explain she was married before meeting Charles Angell nor any connection to the Geo Washington line as some have claimed. What we do know is that she was the proven wife of Charles Angell (Sr.) the Planter and owner of a Plantation in Sauratown (now Pine Hall) which stood in an area in which county lines changed 3 times: from Rowan to Surry to now Stokes. They had the following 13 children together as outlined in both their Wills :

1. Mary Angell: b. abt. 1748; md. Joseph Ozburn on May 8, 1766, New Quaker Meeting House, Guilford Co., NC

2. Jemima Angell: b. abt. 1750; md. James Hensley (brother of Henry Harry Hensley) moved with is brothers Henry and John who also married Angell sisters to Caney River Settlement of old Buncombe, now Yancey Co., NC.

3. Elizabeth Angell: b. 1751; md. Henry Cooke who descended from a Neal (Cornelius) Cook born abt 1657 in England or Ireland and died in Chester Co., PA in 1738. George COOK, their bondsman, was a brother and their father was William COOK 1740 & mother was Elizabeth Angell

4. Nancy Angell: b. 1752; md. Capt./Rev. George Pierce / Pearce / Perce

5. Sibella Angell: b. 1753 - d. 1827; md John Hutchins.

6. Charles ANGELL (Jr): b. 1754 - d. 1834; married Sarah Davies; he took over the Angell Plantation and upon his death he was a widower who owned 808 acres of land on both sides of the Bellews Creek which was carved up to his children at Probate. He and his wife are most likely buried at the Old Angel Cemetery on the Planation which is now gone.

7. Barbra Angell: b. 1755 - d. 1852; md. Rev. Patriot Sgt. Henry Hensley and moved with his brothers James and John who also married Angell sisters to the Caney River Settlement of old Buncombe, now Yancey Co., NC. After the death of husband, she moved over to old Washington (now Unicoi Co)., TN with her son William Allison Hensley's family. Her daughter Zania (never married also moved with them). They are all buried at Old Hensley Cemetery, Spivey Mnt.
