Catherine Nadine Flanagan, age 89 of Ellerslie, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at her residence.
Mrs. Flanagan was born November 11, 1929 in Phenix City, AL., the daughter of Thomas Jackson Adams and Essie Mae Mullis Adams. She was raised in the Ellerslie-Waverly Hall area of Harris County, GA., and was a 1947 graduate of Waverly Hall High School. Mrs. Flanagan retired as a bookkeeper for The White Company (White's Book Store) in Columbus after over thirty years' service and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie, where she, for as long as she was able, faithfully attended services and the Seniors Sunday School Class. She was an avid fan of Atlanta Braves Baseball and enjoyed going shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Earl L. Flanagan; three brothers, Fred Adams, James Adams, and William Adams; and a sister, Earline Adams Arnette.
She is survived by her nephew, Gary Neil Adams (Marie) of Ellerslie; a niece Jan Brown of Ashland, Al.; four great-nieces; four great-great-nieces and six great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2019 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 16117 GA. Hwy. 315, Ellerslie, GA, with Dr. Tommy Henschel and Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Farless, Joe Harmon, Jason Bridges, Daniel Bridges, Adam Shaddix and Kyle Senette.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church Debt Reduction Fund, P. O. Box 215, Ellerslie, GA 31807.
