W.H. Jones, Jr. “Dub”, 87, of Alachua, Florida, born on March 24, 1932 in Keysville, entered into eternal rest on May 5, 2019. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed farming, working in his yard, and woodworking. He made many items for all his children to enjoy. He was the owner of Jones T.V. Repair from 1956 - 1976, after which he went into his first love agriculture, and began farming. Not one to pass up an opportunity, he started working for D & K Trucking in Dade City in 1982 and drove trucks until he retired in 1997. He had a great sense of humor, was fun to visit with, and always had a joke to make you smile. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary “Frances” Jones; children, Steve Jones (Ruthi), Carol Kent (Derral), Sharon Knauer (Jim), David Jones (Dale), Mary Fountain (Kenny), Steven Gornoski (Debbie), and Paul Gornoski (Nancy); 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; and many loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings and grandson, Todd Knauer. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 8 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 S County Rd 39, Plant City. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 11:00 A.M. at Beulah Cemetery, 5300 Beulah Church Rd., Lithia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606 or St. Madeleine Catholic Church, 17155 NW US Hwy 441, High Springs, FL 32643.
