Mary Ellen Davis, 89, Gas City, passed away at 4:45 am on July 8, 2019, at Aperion Care in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, April 23, 1930, to the late Kenneth Adamson and Mary (McKinney) Adamson.
She worked in packaging for several years with Ma Johnson until her retirement in 1986.
On February 28, 1947, she married Robert Davis. Mary was a former member of the Gas City VFW Women's Auxiliary. She used to enjoy traveling with her sister-in-law, Eula Davis, and some friends with the YMCA in Marion. Mary was very devoted to her family, as she stayed home taking care of her family during most of her life.
Survivors include her son, Robert E. (Linda) Davis of Marion; two daughters, Linda (Ron) Reece of Story, WY, Kathy (Gordon) Harvey of Kernersville, NC; three granddaughters, Michelle (Jaye) Heter of Peoria, AZ, Sheri (Gerardo) Maciel of Noblesville, Stacy (Brian) Carroll of Edmond, OK; two grandsons, Randy (Ester) Reece of Sheridan, WY, Kevin Reece of Cowley, WY; special friend, Orville Sherman of Marion; sister-in-law, Betty Boyer of Gas City, Lois Southerland of Marion; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Davis; brothers, Dwight Adamson, Charles Adamson, Kenneth Boyer, Kenneth Adamson, Richard Adamson, and Claude Boyer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 East Main Street, Gas City, IN.
Mary’s Funeral Service is at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
