He graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1942 and immediately entered the Navy. After returning from service in the South Pacific during World War II, he graduated from Quincy College.
Leo is survived by five sons, Ronald Stegeman and his wife Clarissa (Frese) of Apple Valley, MN; Donald and his wife Cindy; Paul and his wife Jill; Marty and his wife Laurie and Ken and his wife Tammy all of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
They had 17 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
