Leo Louis Stegeman, age 94, of the Illinois Veteran's Home, died on Monday July 8, 2019 at the Home. He was born on November 5, 1924 in Quincy, Ill son of Carl and Helen (Rupp) Stegeman Sr. He married Marilyn Ostermiller on April 29, 1950 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on September 16, 2016. Mr. Stegeman was in Insurance sales for more then 50 years in the Quincy area. He took pride in personally delivering checks to his customers who made claims. He was a Navy Veteran in WWII. Leo was a member of St. Francis Church.
He graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1942 and immediately entered the Navy. After returning from service in the South Pacific during World War II, he graduated from Quincy College.
Leo is survived by five sons, Ronald Stegeman and his wife Clarissa (Frese) of Apple Valley, MN; Donald and his wife Cindy; Paul and his wife Jill; Marty and his wife Laurie and Ken and his wife Tammy all of Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
They had 17 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
