Claude “Wayne” Davis, age 85, of Morrilton, passed away, July 6, 2019. He was born September 21, 1933 in Clanton, Alabama, a son of the late Willard Milton Davis and the late Una Belle Mahan Davis. He was an Army Veteran, retired elementary teacher, an avid reader, a member of Perryville Church of Christ, lifelong Bible student, song leader, and a former Elder at Plumerville Church of Christ. Wayne, along with Martha, were both former house parents at Southern Christian Home.
Survivors include his wife: Martha Mae Clayton Davis; daughters: Elizabeth Renee Davis and Catherine Clair Pruitt and husband Steve; grandchildren: Stephen Pruitt and wife Oakley, Gabrielle Wallace and husband Anthony, and Caroline Pruitt and Nathaniel French; one great-grandchild: Grant Pruitt; sisters: Peggy Woods and Faye Kennedy; brothers: John, Roy, and Hubert Davis. Other than his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers: Willard and Paul Davis.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Perryville Church of Christ with Bro. Bill Sherrill and Bro. Ray Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Smyers Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Southern Christian Home.
