Christopher Columbus Stocks was the son of Frances Gardner, 1st wife of Willliam Hillery Stocks. They married 18 Jun 1816 in Morgan County, Georgia. She died in the childbirth of Chris. Her sister Martha then married Hillery Stocks in Nov 1817 to help care for little Christopher. Martha and Hillery went on to sire 12 children of their own. Son of Capt.
