In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Weeks.
As a child he grew up on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in Franklin, GA, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His hobbies included reading, woodworking, playing trumpet, gardening, winemaking, as well as collecting rare and unusual things.
In his later years he enjoyed spending time at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA.
Michael was married for 54 years to his wife Jeanne Flynn Spradlin. He worked for the State of GA in the Department of Corrections for 30+ years.
After obtaining his Master of Divinity from Harding University in 1968, he was a pastor and served in various churches through the years.
Mr. Spradlin is survived by his children, Neal (Angie) Spradlin, Sharpsburg, GA, Jon (Victoria) Spradlin, Loganville, GA, Philip (Christy) Spradlin, Comer, GA, Julie Spradlin, Union City, GA, Jeannie (Ricky) Johns, Sharpsburg, GA; grandchildren, Mikayla, Amy, Sarah, Eli, Brooke, Merry, Christina; sisters, Dorothy (Jackie) Sanders, Fayetteville, GA, Carol (Jack) Crews, Hogansville, GA, plus many friends, family and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the West Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
