Don Leroy Leach
After an illness of three weeks Don LeRoy Leach, son o f Mr. and Mrs. Ray Leach, died at their home in Taylor, Nebraska, at the age of 1 year, 4 months and 12 days, his birth having occurred on October 8th, 1918. On account of the serious illness of other members o f the family, a funeral service was not held. Interment was made Sunday afternoon, February 22, in the Sargent cemetery. When the flu broke out all over the country a few weeks ago and the people of Loup County who had generally escaped it last year came down with it in such great numbers the family of Ray Leach was one of the first come within its grasp. The entire family, father, mother and the eight children all came down with it. Two of the children were considered seriously ill almost from the first, the one that died and the next older. At the time of this writing, Wednesday afternoon the condition of the other is still critical. The condition of the mother's health was a complication that made it harder for the family under such trying conditions. Early Wednesday morning she gave birth to a son. We understand that her mother Mrs. Wm . Gatliff and Mrs. Roy Leach of this city have been at the Ray Leach home most of the time since the flu struck it. Mrs. E. P. Leach of this city has also been at the home of her son.
