Sarah was born to John Cadwallader(1778 – 1866)and Sarah Ruth Bogue (1780 – 1843) in Belmont, Belmont, Ohio.

She married Elijah Dixon 4 Sep 1828 and lived in Illinois and Iowa before moving to Washington Territory with some of her children.
