Dorothy Marie Wilsie, 88, of Romulus, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Shawnee.

She was born January 27, 1931 to John and Willie (Jackson) Key in Maud, Oklahoma.

Dorothy was raised in Maud and Romulus and attended school at Romulus through the 8th grade.

She married Wesley “Ross” Wilsie, Sr. on June 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2016.

Dorothy worked as a certified nurse’s aide at Shawnee Medical Center until she retired in 1993.

She was a very active member of Romulus Baptist Church. Dorothy loved watching basketball and was an avid OKC Thunder fan. She enjoyed living at Primrose and enjoyed participating in the activities there. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley “Ross” Wilsie, Sr.; her parents, John and Willie Key; 2 brothers, Jack (Johnie) Key and LeRoy Key; 4 sisters, Sarah Key, Mozelle (Lester) Bowerman, Leota (Charles) Morton and Betty (Bryan) Ledbetter; and 1 brother-in-law, Darryl Wilsie.

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sue Wilsie of Shawnee, OK; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Linda and Steve Dobbins of Allen, OK and June Hammons of Ada, OK; 5 grandchildren, Richard and Jill Wilsie of Byron, IL, Jennifer and Wendell Smith of Allen, OK, Cindy and Jason Bray of Salina, KS, Sara and Jeff Maloy of Allen, OK and Nicole and Ronnie Davis of Fittstown, OK; 10 great-grandchildren, Brady Wilsie, Carson Wilsie, Emily Smith, Nathan Smith, Jana Bray, Allie Bray, Alyssa Maloy, Luke Maloy, Kinley Davis and Madison Davis; and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank Colonial Estates, Heartland Hospice and staff at Primrose Retirement Center for their loving care.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Romulus Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Craig, Temple Baptist Church, Shawnee, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
