Woolley.
Mary Elizabeth Woolley died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Kerley, near Peck, Aug. 29, aged 77 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Mrs. Woolley's maiden name was Ellsworth. She was born in Shelby county, Ohio and there grew to womanhood. At the age of 22 she came the wife of Elihu Woolley, who died May 23, 1900. To them were born 11 children, six of whom are living; Tylee, of Waukee, Iowa, Alfred, of Tivoll, Okla., Mrs. Susie Kerley, of Peck, Kans., Mrs. Mattie Carlton, Mrs. Cinda Shinn and Joseph, of Los Angeles, California. The three first mentioned, together with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren were present at the funeral.

In the summer of 1878 Mr. and Mrs. Woolley came to Kansas, purchasing a farm one mile west of where Peck now stands, where they continued to reside until a few years ago when, giving the cultivation of the farm into younger hands, they removed to Peck.

Mrs. Woolley was a faithful member of the church of Christ. The funeral which was from the Christian chapel, at Peck, was ably directed by undertaker, R.M. Vanderwork, and the discourse delivered by Elder Jos. E. Cain. The attendance was exceptionally large. The interment was at the Council Hill cemetery.
