Lois was a 1952 graduate of Trafalgar High School. She worked all her life on the farm with her dad, and then her husband. She also worked at United Telephone Company after high school, raised her family, and worked part-time at Trafalgar and Indian Creek Schools. She worked part-time at Ruth Ann’s Restaurant in Trafalgar, IN and eleven years at Andretti Firestone and Andretti Machine Shop. She was a lifetime member of Trafalgar Christian Church. She was a 27 year member of the Ding-a-Ling Square Dance Club and many other square dance clubs. She was also a member of the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association Club where she and her husband were active with their John Deere tractors. She and her husband were also active in the Pioneer Village at the Indiana State Fair for many years along with showing their tractors at other shows around Indiana.
Survivors include her husband Omer I. Sisson of Trafalgar, IN; her children Mike Sisson and his wife Elaine of Trafalgar, IN, and Janet Esteb and her husband David of Franklin, IN; grandchildren Brent Sisson (Kelly) of Trafalgar, IN, Ginnie York (Jason) of Franklin, IN, Brian Esteb (Melissa) of Franklin, IN, Brad Sisson (Ashley) of Bargersville, IN; and Jill Hockemeyer (Chad) of Columbia City, IN; step-grandson Brett Reigel (Becca) of Homer, IN; great-grandchildren Peyton Sisson, Parker Sisson, Cody York, Hunter York, Catelynn Hockemeyer, Courtney Hockemeyer, and Maverick Sisson; four step-great-grandchildren Samantha Reigel, Mariah Reigel, Sara Reigel, and Trey Reigel; and a brother Raymond Ashley (Sylvia) of Arcadia, FL.
The Reverend Doug Bohall will conduct a service on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 3PM till 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, IN.
