Fern A. Gibbons 78, Robinson, died May 13, 1989 at Hiawatha Community Hospital, where she had been transferred earlier in the day from Heritage Manor in Hiawatha. She had been a resident at Heritage Manor for about two weeks.
She was born Nov. 19,1910 at Robinson the daughter of Clarence and Bessie Breeding Glenn.
Mrs. Gibbons was a member of the Christian Church in Robinson.
She married Clarence J. Gibbons Jan. 25, 1936, at Robinson. They farmed for many years in Brown and Doniphan counties. Before moving to Robinson in 1961. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Vernon Gibbons of Lamoni, Iowa;two brothers Clarence Glenn Jr. and Marvin Glenn, both of Robinson; four sisters, Blanche McKee of Horton, Leota Covert and Veta Covert, both of Robinson, and Goldie Rutland of Willis; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Casselman-Meek Funeral Home in Hiawatha, where the family will receive frinds from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Brooks officiating and the Rev. Jim Tuchscherer assisting. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Robinson KS.. Momorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Assoc., and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
