Elaine Deile daughter of Jacob and Adeline (Boschee) Deile was born July 4, 1934 on her parents farm eight miles southwest of Wishek, ND.   Elaine attended school in a one room school to 8th grade very near her parent’s farm, getting to school riding the family Shetland horse “Shorty”. She worked on the farm and later due to some testing taught school for a short time in a one room schoolhouse 10 miles from their family farm.

Elaine was united in marriage to the dashing young Alfred Dockter Easter Monday, April 6, 1953 at St. James Lutheran Church rural Wishek, ND. a marriage that lasted 60 years.  Alfred and Elaine began farming on Beaver Creek 11 miles northwest of Zeeland, ND.  Elaine was involved in every aspect of their farming operation. They raised small grains, cattle and had dairy cows.  They raised six children on this farm, one daughter and five sons. Elaine cooked and baked thousands of delicious meals. Christmas, Easter and thanksgiving were always special meals for our family.  She was an excellent pie baker, custard rhubarb yum!  German dishes such as dumplings and strudels, wonderful soups graced many a meal. Vast amounts of Kuchen especially for Easter, loved making buns with her granddaughters.  She enjoyed getting together with neighbors, helping out when needed.  Always interested in her community.  Elaine was an active member of the country Homemakers Club for 50 years and later enjoyed Red Hatters. Alfred and Elaine retired from dairy farming in 1988.  Elaine began to work with Rosenbluth Travel, Linton, ND for about 5 yrs.  After moving to Wishek, ND,  Elaine began to cook for the Wishek Senior Center, retiring in 2004.

Elaine and Alfred enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Mackinaw Island and Branson, MO.  They also traveled many miles supporting their children and grandchildren activities. Many football trips: especially to ZHS and Valley City State Vikings and NDSU Bison.  Alfred and Elaine were longtime members of St. Andrews Lutheran Church rural Zeeland, ND. After St. Andrews closed, they became members of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek, ND. Elaine and Alfred sang in the Church choir and the German choir.  Elaine loved unconditionally and will be dearly missed.
