JANESVILLE — Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:30 p. m. from the family home in Janesville for William Colose, 82- year-old resident of this community who died Tuesday at 5:45 a. m. at his home. Mr. Colose had been in ill health for some time.

Born in Newlands, Scotland, May 15, 1875, a son of John and Elizabeth (McClay) Close, he came to the United States at the age of nine with his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. They settled first in Tioga County, later moving to Morrisdale, and finally settled in Janesville where he made his home for the past 52 years

Mr. Close was employed as a steam engineer for the Mountz Coal Co. for 30 years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, the former Eleanor Smith, are five sons: John and Andrew, Smithmills; George, Madera; Irwin, Banon, near Madera; and Carl, Bellwood; two brothers: John and George, both of Ginter; 11 grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren. A son, William, preceded him in death in 1924 as the result of an airplane accident.

Rev. Richard Hackenberry will officiate at the service and interment will follow in the I.O.O.F, Cemetery at Brisbin.

Friends will be received at his home from 7 o'clock this evening until time of services.
