She was born June 20, 2008 in Houston, Texas. On this earth for only 11 years – but the joy and happiness that she brought to those around her will continue in our hearts and memories forever. Aaliyah was surrounded by her family when she went to be with the Lord peacefully.
Aaliyah is a brave and gracious warrior, having fought neuroblastoma cancer for five years. Her fight became a journey of hope, unwavering faith and gratitude. It was an unintentional, yet ever-present lesson to others: to live life every day with a positive attitude, the way she had lived her entire life.
She loved her kitties, creating arts, doing crafts and baking with her mommy and grandma. Her kind spirit is contagious and she is always so incredibly thoughtful to those around her. She loved school and her Weber Elementary family.
Aaliyah will be greatly missed by her parents Angie and Greg Allen, her brother Tirrell Reed, her grandparents Angela and Carmine Petrillo, Henry Allen, great grandfather Carmine Petrillo, and her aunts and uncles Carmine (Tiffany) Petrillo, Derrick (Lisa) Allen, Dexter Allen and Armentres (Kim) Allen all from Houston. In addition to her immediate family, she has numerous great aunts and great uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Quinton Octavia Allen.
A service celebrating Aaliyah’s life will be at 11:00am Friday, June 28, 2019, at CT Church, 9701 Almeda Genoa, Houston 77075, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.
