Mrs. Cora Parks Gallup, age 94, died at the Boone Retirement Center, Columbia, Wednesday, July 21, where she had been a patient for about 10 years.
Mrs. Gallup was born September 5, 1887 to the late Columbua A. and Lela L. Kanatzer Parks in Boone County, Missouri.
She was married to Joe Gallup, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son in infancy and one brother, Josh Parks. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Josh Parks, Centralia: one sister, Mrs. Violet Joplin, Dallas, Texas: three nieces, Elaine Joplin, Dallas, Mrs. Eugene (Louise) Smith, Harrisonville, Missouri and Mrs. Anna Mae Prior of Riverside, California and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gallup lived in Kansas City for a few years then returned to retire and make her home near her brother, Josh Parks, Centralia. Funeral services were Saturday, July 24, 1:00 p.m. at the Meador & Son Chapel in Centralia with Dr. Edwin Burris of the First Baptist Church in Centralia officiating.
Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery, north of Sturgeon, where Mr. Parks' property joined the cemetery and lived for 40 years.
