BERTIE LATHYLIA CANNON JONES of Old Town passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 in Gainesville, at the home of her daughter. Bertie was 87 years old. Born January 11, 1920 in Old Town to Barry Cannon and Attie Barber Cannon, the house she was born in still stands on the family property. She was a lifetime member of Rock Sink Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, H.F. Jones, Jr. of Old Town; daughter, Laverne Jones Derfinyak of Gainesville; sisters, Beatrice Fletcher of Old Town, Oveda Jones of Old Town, Mittie Bennett of Bell, and Juanita Simmons of High Springs; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 22, 2007 at 3:00 p.m., at the Rock Sink Baptist Church in Old Town with Rev. Terry Cranford officiating. Burial took place at the Rock Sink Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City.

Arrangements have been placed under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, US Hwy 19, Cross City 352-498-5400
