Fred E. Archer, of Carthage, died Tuesday at the Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg. About ten days ago Mr. Archer was operated upon for double hernia and was getting along well. It is said that on Sunday the stitches were removed. His death was unexpected and sudden. Mr. Archer was born near Lowville about 49 years ago, the son of James and Amelia Archer. He is survived by his widow, Minnie Parker Archer, and one daughter, Mrs. Maurice Cook; also four brothers, Everett and Frank Archer, of Copenhagen; Fay Archer, of Laconia, and Raymond Archer, of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. A. J. Wood, of Copenhagen.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the home, with burial at Fairview cemetery. Mr. Archer was a prominent member of the lodge of Odd Fellows.
