Sandra Ann (nee Storch) Pierson, 33, of 7714 North Smith Street, Spokane, WA, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 12, 1967 at her home. She was 20 weeks pregnant when she was found on the rear car seat with a hose extending from the exhaust pipe to a rear window with heavy exhaust in the family garage. Investigators at the time ruled it as a suicide. Her children said due to small stature, they always suspected she was too petite to have closed the heavy and possibly malfunctioning garage door on her own. She also talked to her own mother mere minutes before she was found deceased as she got ready for work in the morning. Decades later, investigators determined that her death was an alleged domestic violence. Beloved wife of Duke James Pierson. Devoted mother of Sherry Lee Pierson and Joel Pierson, both at home. Loving daughter of Theodore Fred and Juanita (nee Green) Storch of Spokane. Cherished granddaughter of Maude Green of Spokane. Dear sister of Leo L. Storch of Spokane Valley. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 North Division Street, Spokane, WA 99207. Funeral services were officiated by Bishop William Bott on Friday, September 15, 1967 at 10:30 AM in Riplinger's Chapel of Flowers, 4305 North Division Street, Spokane, WA 99207. Cremation was followed.
