"Rev. Charles E. Stowe Dies in California"
Santa Barbara, Cal., July 25 – The Rev. Charles Edward Stowe, 74, retired Congregational minister and author, son of C. E. Stowe and Harriet Beecher Stowe, the writer, died here yesterday.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, in 1850, Stowe was graduated from Harvard in 1875. He retired from the ministry in 1908 to take up literary work. He came here in 1919 from New York City.
Surviving are a son, Lyman Beecher Stowe, New York City, and a daughter, Mrs. James Donnelly, of Santa Barbara.
