Lived in Russell Co until the early 1880's when Moses and his son, Squire, went to Texas to look over new land. They stopped at Gordon, Texas and made a crop. Being satisfied with results, he sent Squire back to Ky to bring the family to TX. They arrived in TX abt 1883, some living the rest of their lives in Texas. A letter he wrote to his nephew, Cyrus Matterson Wilson, was believed to have influenced him to come to Texas several years later. Shortly after 1900, most of the family moved on to Oklahoma Indian Territory, and settled in the Marietta community. Was found on 1900 census of Erath Co., Texas as M Hopper
