FEDERALSBURG — Ida Florence Mitchell, of Federalsburg, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at the Seaford Center, in Seaford, Del. She was 92.

Born Jan. 15, 1912, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert Charles Roller and Amanda Elizabeth Norten [sic - correctly spelled Norton] Roller. Her husband, Holland M. Mitchell, preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 1987.

She worked for over 20 years for the Sunshine Laundry, and also worked for the former Famous Cleaners in Federalsburg. She was a charter member of the Lighthouse Community Church, where she served for over 13 years on the Emmaus Prison Ministry that went weekly to the Caroline County Detention Center. She was a former member of Christ United Methodist Church, the Federalsburg Senior Citizens, Ladies Auxiliary of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Company, where her husband led the band years ago, and the Women's Club at Chestnut Grove Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Amanda Morris, of Federalsburg, a stepson, Milton Mitchell, of Axton, Va., a stepdaughter, Frances M. Fisher, of Seaford; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, two adopted children, and five adopted grandchildren. Seven brothers and sisters are deceased.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Framptom Funeral Home, Federalsburg, with the Rev. Nathan Sanders and the Rev. "Connie" Cohen officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Pallbearers will be Kirk Willoughby, Jim Klinedinst, Billy Mitchell, Presly Santos, Glenn Elswick and Bernie Vervin.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday....
