Delores Ann Oaks Odom passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at NHC Healthcare.

She was a lifelong resident of Johnson City where she attended public schools and was a graduate of Science Hill High School. Born on October 7, 1938 to the late Susie Strickland and Herman McKinley Oaks. She was preceded in death by a newborn sister and twin newborn brother.

Ann was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and served on various committees as health permitted.

She retired from Pet Dairy / Dean Foods where she worked in accounting and other departments for 39 years.

Ann loved her family and enjoyed hosting special occasions with them. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, traveling and playing bunko. As a member of Johnson City County Club, she enjoyed eating out and meeting people.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband; David F. Odom; Daughter, Debra H. Ramsey “Debbie” (Frankie) of Jonesborough, Tennessee; Sons: Michael Lynn Hopkins “Mickey” of Johnson City, W.R. “Randy” Hopkins (Reola) of Johnson City; Sister: Sue Speer (Gary) of Johnson City; Brother: H.M. “Bud” Oaks (Beth) of Gray; Stepson: Bryan Odom (Janna) of Somerset, Kentucky; Stepdaughter: Laura Cooper (Jeff) of Johnson City; Step Grandchildren: Eric McAmis, Caitlyn Odom, Connor Cooper and Grayson Odom; Nieces: Allison Speer (Rick) Smith, Ashley Speer (Barry) Minter, Jennifer Oaks; Great Nephews: Tristan Smith and Logan Smith. Also surviving are several special cousins.

A funeral service for Delores Ann Odom will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City with Dr. Don Page and Dr. Mike Oaks officiating. Music will be provided by Kathy Thompson, Ann Dykes and David Clark.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 prior to the service. A graveside and committal will follow at the Monte Vista Memorial Park.

Pallbearers asked to serve are Rick Smith, Barry Minter, Gene Oaks, Frankie Ramsey, Jeff Cooper and Bryan Odom. Honorary Pallbearers are Hermon Cox, Logan Smith and Tristan Smith.

The family wants to thank April Edwards, NP and Dr. Chakradhar Reddy for their years of loving support through Ann’s illness and to thank NHC and Amedisys for their special care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s name to Skyline Heights Baptist Church.
