On January 10, 1900 in Dickenson County Virginia, Phoebe married Noah P. Hay. They had no children. No word if he died or they divorced but then she married Raymond Lee in 1908. She died within a year.

This story was found on Ancestry:
"Phoebe was pregnant and went to Virginia to her parents to have her baby. The parents told Alex that she and the baby died. Oregon folks did not believe that as Phoebe's parents did not want her to marry Alex. Mystery was never solved".
