Ann Cooney, 75, Villisca, was born to Frank and Francis Novotny Rothanzl June 17, 1921, at Chotebor, Czechoslovkia. She became ill at her home and died a short time after arriving at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, December 2, 1996.
She was brought to New York at the age of two and from there to Omaha, where she married Jack Cooney in 1962. Their residence was 105 S. 3rd Street, Villisca, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 10, 1994; one brother and a sister.
She is survived by her children, Pat Stanek, Denver, Colorado, Larry Souba, Donovan, Illinois, and Sheri Kalenlan, Tucson, Arizona, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held December 5 at the Villisca United Methodist Church with Reverend Clark Finehout officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Omaha.
A memorial is being established.
